Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported on September 18, 2018 near Ottawa and Broadway

While working for the City of Leavenworth, a contractor replacing a manhole at 740 Dakota Street broke a stormwater line. There was 75 gallons of sanitary sewer water that ran into the storm drain and flowed south toward Ottawa Street and into a nearby creek. Water Pollution Control placed contaminated creek signs out and is taking E. coli samples. The City asks citizens to stay out of the open areas between Pawnee and Ottawa Streets and Broadway and 7th Streets.
