Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported on August 26, 2019 at 2nd Avenue and Thornton Street

Heavy rain caused a sanitary sewer manhole to overflow at 2nd Avenue and Thornton Street. This manhole overflowed for 81 minutes and an estimated 24,400 gallons flowed into the storm drain and into the nearby creek. When the rain slowed, the manhole was no longer overflowing.

Water Pollution Control asks that residents stay out of the area marked with contaminated creek signs until the signs are removed.
