Jan. 5, 2022 | Public Information Office

The City of Leavenworth’s Community Development Block Grant program is taking applications for rent or utility reimbursement to human service nonprofit organizations.

Organizations must be in the Leavenworth city limits, be a nonprofit agency and serve low to moderate-income residents, as defined by guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

First priority is given to agencies whose primary interest is housing/homelessness, health/mental health and substance abuse support. The amount of funding has yet to be determined by the federal government. Last year the City of Leavenworth received $47,969 for distribution to various agencies.

Applications are due 3 p.m. Friday January 28, 2022 at Leavenworth City Hall, 100 N. Fifth St. The 2022-23 application is available from the Community Development Coordinator, Mary Dwyer. Call 913-680-2628 or e-mail mdwyer@firstcity.org.
