June 24, 2021 | Public Information Office

After more than five years serving as Assistant City Manager of the City of Leavenworth, Kansas, Taylour Tedder is departing to serve as City Manager of Boulder City, Nevada. His last day is August 2.

Tedder, an Olathe, Kan., native, came to Leavenworth with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Emporia State University, a Master of Public Administration from Wichita State University and experience as Development Manager, and previously Management Assistant, of the City of Derby, Kansas.

During his time in Leavenworth, Tedder achieved a Certified Economic Development designation from the International Economic Development Council. His duties included management of staff within the Leavenworth Convention and Visitors Bureau, IT Division, Municipal Court, Probation Division and Public Information Officer. He served as staff liaison to NetWork Kansas’ “Grow Leavenworth County,” an organization that provided low-interest loans to local businesses, and oversaw Economic Development efforts including programs that provide Small Business funding to local businesses. Tedder was also instrumental in developing “Camp Leavenworth,” a new community festival supported by the City of Leavenworth.

“Taylour is a very talented local government professional and it was only a matter of time before he got the opportunity to become a City Manager,” City Manager Paul Kramer said. “Boulder City made an excellent choice selecting Taylour to lead their City. This is a loss for Leavenworth, but a great thing for Taylour, his family and his career.”

Kramer said the search would begin immediately for Tedder’s replacement. Candidates for Assistant City Manager should have a Master of Public Administration degree and preferably an interest in supporting economic development. The job opening will be posted on the city’s website.
