With the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday Monday, Jan. 15, and dangerously cold temperatures forecast on Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, the City of Leavenworth will cancel trash pickup January 15 to January 16.

The National Weather Service predicts crews outside Tuesday morning would face minus 8 degree Fahrenheit temperatures with an even lower wind chill factor. This extraordinary adjustment is necessary to keep everyone safe.

Those with regular pick-up days of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are scheduled to have their trash removed on regular days next week.

Trash schedule for January 15 - 19 will be:

  • Monday January 15 – No Pick-Up (Trash service resumes Monday January 22)
  • Tuesday January 16 – No Pick-Up (Trash service resumes Tuesday January 23)
  • Wednesday January 17 – Regular-Pick Up (January 17)
  • Thursday January 18 – Regular Pick-Up (January 18)
  • Friday January 19 – Regular Pick-Up (January 19)

We understand the inconvenience for those not having trash picked up for the week and plan to return to full service the week of January 22.
