Swim Lessons Summer Session 1

The Parks and Recreation Department provides these programs for children, teens, and adults. Certified instructors will provide you with a supportive environment in which to learn and obtain skills. Summer classes are taught at Wollman Aquatic Center.

Fees:  $40 Residents/$45 Non-Residents - - 

For registering multiple children in the same household at one time, the first two are at full price. The third child (and subsequent children after that) will receive a discount. Call or email Parks & Recreation before registering online to receive the discount.

Class size:  Minimum of 3

Registration:  Register online (convenience fees apply) by clicking the link above or in person at the Riverfront Community Center.  Students must be registered by noon the Friday before the session starts.

For Ages 6 & up - Select skill set below

  • Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.
  • Level 2 - Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills.
  • Level 3 - Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.
  • Level 4 - Stroke Improvement: Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.
  • Level 5 - Stroke Refinement: Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.
  • Level 6 - Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.

 

Inclement Weather/Lightning Policy:

In the event of inclement weather, classes will still run. However, if thunder/lightning is present, all classes will be taught on deck to go over required pool safety rules and information.

 

Waiver:
Payment to attend this activity/class means you agree to the following:  "I hereby give my authorization for participation in the activities of the above-named recreation activity or class.  I assume all risks incidental to the conduct of the activities or class and release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Leavenworth Parks & Recreation Department, the sponsors and supervisors.  Further, in case of injury, I hereby waive all claims against the City of Leavenworth, its sponsors, or any supervisors appointed to them.
 
Photographs and videos taken by the City during the activity will be used for marketing purposes by the Parks & Recreation Department and will become the property of the City of Leavenworth.
