Splash Pad at Hawthorn Park

Physical Address:  1100 Ohio Street

Splash Pad Hours: 10 a.m. until sunset

Splash Pad Activation: Look for the activation button in the concrete.  It is located by the sidewalk going towards the Hawthorn Park shelter. Water will run for about five minutes, then turn off until someone pushes the activation button again. This helps conserve water while allowing complete access during splash pad hours.

Description: 55' by 60' with multiple spraying spouts.  

Amenities: Full amenities will be installed and available when the pad re-opens in the spring.

Splash Pad Chronicles: In June 2021, Parks staff and the City Commission discussed a splash pad project to be located somewhere in one of our existing parks.  Hawthorn Park was selected and on January 25, 2022, the City Commission unanimously approved the construction of a 55' by 60' splash pad.  Work began in April 2022. By the end of August the same year, the splash pad was available for use, but due to delivery delays, not all of the features were installed. In May 2023, a grand opening of the splash pad was held with all of the features and amenities available for use.
