Dog Manners and Obedience

Dog trainer, Kim Downing, will teach you and your four-legged friend the basic commands.  Geared for dogs ages 4-months or older.  Must be current on vaccinations.  This is a 7-week program.  The first week is without your dog.  For more detailed information, click here.  

Class Description: 

• Level 1 - A foundation level class includes many behaviors like begin walking on a leash, sit, down, come, focused attention, place, and stay.
• Level 2 - A more advanced obedience class.  Humans and pets must have completed a Level 1 class or have the instructor's permission to attend.

Fee:  $100

Registration:  Online (convenience fees apply) or in person at the Riverfront Community Center

Class Size:  Minimum is 4, Maximum is 10

Class Schedule (Saturdays only from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.):  

• ​​​​​​​Summer Level 1: May 4 - June 15

Location:  Class will be held outside in Downtown Leavenworth where the gazebo was once located at 309 Delaware.

Waiver:

Payment to attend this activity/class means you agree to the following:  "I hereby give my authorization for participation in the activities of the above-named recreation activity or class.  I assume all risks incidental to the conduct of the activities or class and release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Leavenworth Parks & Recreation Department, the sponsors and supervisors.  Further, in case of injury, I hereby waive all claims against the City of Leavenworth, its sponsors, or any supervisors appointed to them.

Photographs and videos taken by the City during the activity will be used for marketing purposes by the Parks & Recreation Department and will become the property of the City of Leavenworth.
