The Leavenworth CVB is please to present the "Be a tourist in your own backyard" passport.  Simply visit all the attractions listed and turn in your finished passport to the CVB office for your prize: your choice of swag, such as a coffee mug, tumbler, organizer and more.  On December 15, 2024, all entries will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a travel package worth over $250.00.  It includes a one-night hotel stay, breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Leavenworth.

Carroll Mansion and Museum, 1128 5th Ave., Tue. - Sat. 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. $10, under 5 free, 913.682.7759

This 1880's Victorian home features elaborate handcrafted woodwork, beautiful stained-glass windows and elegant antiques. This museum also serves as the archive and research center for the Leavenworth County Historical Society.

C.W. Parker Carousel Museum, 320 S. Esplanade St., Sat. and Sun. 1 pm to 5 pm. $5, 913.682.1331

Dedicated to the remarkable story of Charles Wallace Parker, the “Carnival King.” Take a ride on a restored 1913 carousel made right here in Leavenworth!

Richard Allen Cultural Center, 412 Kiowa St., Mon. - Thur. 11 am to 4 pm, Fri. and Sat. by appointment. $5, 913.682.8772

Honors Leavenworth’s African American history. Visitors tour the former home of U.S. Army Captian William Bly, a Buffalo Soldier veteran of WWI. Also artifacts from the Bethel AME Church which was a stop on the Underground Railroad.

1st City Museum, 743 Delaware St., Thur. 1 pm to 4 pm, $4, 913-682-1866

Houses artifacts from Leavenworth’s frontier, railroad, and manufacturing days, including buggies, stoves and prison-related memorabilia.

Historical Wayside Tour, 20 markers to choose from located all over town. The CVB will check this off at the office.

Frontier Army Museum, 100 Reynolds Ave, Fort Leavenworth, Tues - Fri. 9 am to 4 pm, Sat. 10 am to 4 pm. $4 suggested donation, 913.684.3191 or 913.684.3186

Tells the story of the Frontier Army (1804 Lewis & Clark Expedition-1917 Mexican Expedition) and history of Fort Leavenworth (1827-present).

One entry per person per year. No age restrictions on swag prizes, however must be 18+ to win the Hotel package.
